Our practice horror was called 'The Killing' for this we had to make up a story line and base a short opening title sequence. 'The Killing' is based on a young girl who is followed and killed. Before this task we had recently learnt about the angles, movements and different shots which for us made this task a lot better than our preliminary. We then went out and filmed and we use a lot of different angles and editing techniques which made this task a lot better than it previously was.
This was one of our first tasks when filming. We had to learn how to use the camera and to do this we filmed 'The Exchange', this helped mainly in the editing process which the team worked together to finally produce the final cut. The clip could be improved but for a first task it was very impressive.
Today we learn't about the different camera angles and the different movements we could use when filming our opening title sequence.
The shots are:
Today we watched the opening title sequence from 'Severance' and 'The Grudge', for us this gave us an insight to the importance of an opening title sequence. During this task we were told to focus on what titles they used and how they were ordered. When we compared both the films together we saw the difference in the titles, which shows that we don't need to use every single title. We then as a group decided what order our titles should go in and what names we should use.
