AUDIENCE research (EL, eh)
We interviewed five different people to find what type of horror to them was most interesting and scary. By doing this it gave us an idea of what type of horror an audience would find most interesting and scary. From the interviews above we have gathered that people like zombie horrors, slashers and paranormal. We also found that people are afraid of weapons, build up and the music that is used. After watching through all of the audience answers it has helped us know which genre of films people mostly enjoyed. We then used this information to help us with our opening title sequence. We gathered this information and we portrayed this throughout our work too; for example, the use of weapons was taken from the popularity of those we interviewed and then mirrored into our OTS, for example the use of our chainsaw. The use of build up music was also in the list of things that the people we interviewed enjoyed in response to the question "what makes a horror movie scary". We then took this information to make our OTS better and improved by adding suspense in correlation to the majority of the interviewees preferences of horror.
