Alice: Madness Returns (2011) (RS, AP)
The main inspiration for our Opening Title Sequence was taken from the video game Alice: Madness Returns By 'EA Games'. We thought this was a good idea as it is a modern creepy twist on the original Alice In Wonderland film and story. We especially liked the story line, (written by Lewis Carroll, 1865), as we believe it is a different original idea for a horror film and one that no one has created before. As a group we really like the imagery that 'Spicy Horse Gaming' used and thought it would be a perfect scenario for a horror movie. Together as a group we watched the game trailer and saw different aspects of the game we could recreate in our opening title sequence, For example: Dialogue, Scenery, costume etc. Whilst doing research into the game we realised 'Alice: madness Returns' is an ideal set up for a horror movie, as the game follows a girl suffering from emotional trauma (Alice Liddell) caused by the death of her parents.
Alice's Adventures in wonderland (1865) (AP)
Rather than just taking ideas from one source, we looked at 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. We like the idea of using some of the same characters included in the book as some of these are not used in the game, 'Alice: Madness Returns'. When deciding we wanted to base our OTS around 'Alice: Madness Returns' we also felt that we wanted to include some of the main story line from the original book as it is a classic and more people are familiar with this version of the story. We also thought that using the original idea of Alice in Wonderland it would make our final Opening Title Sequence scarier for the audience because it would feel more real and relate back to their childhood.

We also looked at Tim Burtons take on the 2010 recreation of 'Alice in Wonderland'. We loved how he styled the movie, especially the 'Mad Hatters' tea party scene, which we would love to recreate in our own opening title sequence. Apart from this we really liked how the whole film had a creepy aspect to it. As a group we feel that we will be taking our OTS inspiration mainly from the game but also mostly from the newer version of the film. We liked the idea of this as we love the imagery that the both of them portray and feel they are both more horror based.
Alice in Wonderland (1951) (RS, AP)
This is the original trailer made for Alice in Wonderland in 1951.
We loved how each of the versions of Alice in Wonderland all link together but are all slightly different versions of each other. We took inspiration from this as we wanted to add aspects of all the different creations of Alice inWonderland but also make it our own. We also want to twist the plot to become part of the horror genre. As a group we feel this will be an interesting turn on a childhood classic story, movie and video game.
Shrooms (2007) (RS, AP)
We liked the running scenes in the Opening title Sequence as we felt it gave a good, disorientating effect on the audience, building suspense as you do not know quite why the subject is running and whats going to happen to them.
Dexter (2006) (rs)
We also like the Symbolic, Suggestive style of Dexter's Opening Title Sequence, we like the way they used many, short, suggestive shots, symbolising things in the program. We used this idea with the Mad-Hatter placing his weapons on the table, symboling he is getting ready to kill someone. Also The Mad-Hatter blowing out a candle, symbolising "time is up" and other scenes throughout our Opening Title Sequence.
