Today we filmed in the basement, previously to this Alfie and Rowen went down to the basement and took some photo's so that we could plan further and adapt more on our work. Later in the week we went down in a group and all of took part doing different tasks, Alfie and I played the role of 'fake Alice' and Ellie and Rowen filmed, we had to use different lighting skills to make the scene more effective.
Today I did some extra work on Saul Bass. Saul Bass was the creator of opening title sequences. I had to look at a lot of his work and I made a good page entirely on him.
http://hughesleemanpoultersmall.weebly.com/saul-bass.html As a group we decided to go and film up Chosen Hill and in the school basement. We chose all the different props and we decided who in our group would plat 'fake Alice' which was me and who would play the 'real Alice' which ended up being Alfie. Rowen was to be the director and camera man and Ellie would help him to do this while she helped with the main directing and the lighting in different scenes. We had to think throughly about how we would get up to Chosen Hill and how we would use the basement at school in the correct way. We went through a lot of changed ideas as a group and we were constantly adding in new parts and getting rid of silly ideas.
We decided to watch over some fairy tale type horror films, we also watched a lot of 'Alice Returns' clips from the video game. Our final idea came from the video game 'Alice Returns' and we adapted this into our own thing. When watching other horror clips we decided it wasn't for our group and we wanted to go down the route of something that no group had done for a while.
Today we decided where our titles were going to go. We also decided on the names that would be use in the opening title sequence. We had much inspiration of how and where to put our titles, we had to watch two different starts of films to help with this inspiration. We watched 'The Grudge' and 'Severance' both these opening title sequences had different ways of how the direction put in the titles.
